Indigenous Partnerships
Synterra respects the Indigenous Peoples within whose Traditional Territory we operate and work. We acknowledge that our projects span many Traditional Territories, Treaty lands and unceded lands across Canada and the United States. We also recognise that Indigenous Peoples’ relationship to the land and waterways continues to this day, as well as their unique histories, cultures and traditions.
At Synterra, we are committed to building and sustaining meaningful relationships based on mutual respect. Our approach is to work cooperatively and transparently with Indigenous groups in a manner consistent with Canada’s commitment to advancing reconciliation.
We are a member of the Canadian Council of Indigenous Business, which builds bridges between Indigenous businesses and corporate Canada.
Stakeholder Value & Memberships
We are the sum of the company we keep, so as part of Canada’s energy sector, we carry this responsibility through our professional affiliations and accreditations.
Our membership with ComplyWorks and ISNetworld allows us to keep our stakeholders working in harmony, staying ahead of risk, and protecting workers and worksites.
As long-standing members of the Canadian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (CSEG) and the Canadian Association of Geophysical Contractors (CAGC), our team has volunteered hundreds of hours to both organizations in pursuance of industry excellence through Board appointments and social committee work. Our affiliations not only foster industry fellowship, but stimulate investment and advancement of the science of geophysics and prospecting at large.
Environmental Stewardship
North American energy industries operate in a well-defined regulatory system with clear expectations for environmental management. Understanding the regulatory framework, the ecological impacts on sites, and available remediation as they relate to geophysical prospecting, are essential to growth and good business.
Intrinsically at the core of our service continuum are better ways to manage and reduce the environmental impact of your exploration project. We make sense of the science, data, risks, and regulations to present opportunities and solutions that fuel smart, practical decisions.
Our technical expertise and ability to see the ecological big picture, paired with Indigenous peoples’ knowledge and history with the land, makes us strong partners.
We are committed to supporting industry and its communities to operate in a sustainable manner.
